Lifestyle Medicine Coaches actively works in collaboration with their clients who are purposely seeking self-directed, sustainable lifestyle changes aligned with their values, beliefs and cultural orientation, which will ultimately promote positive health outcome and enhance well-being. They support clients in their endeavor to engage in lifestyle medicine practices, such as healthy diet, regular exercise, stress management and good sleep hygiene, in order to improve perceived quality of life.
WHY IS THERE A NEED FOR LIFESTYLE MEDICINE COACHES? This course will address the need for quality education and credentialing to support coaches in their individual practices or as part of a multidisciplinary team in promote lifestyle medicine as the primary treatment of choice for chronic diseases. Up to 75 percent of morbidity all over the world is rooted in poor lifestyle choices that drains both household and national budget. This 120-hour blended curriculum provides the competency required to a lifestyle medicine coach including the fundamental topics in lifestyle medicine. Coaches will have in-depth understanding and appreciation of the wholistic human health experience and become effectively trained to motivate, educate, and equip their clients with lifestyle choices that will prevent, treat and, often, reverse chronic disease.
